Notes from the
show:
"We were worried that the impending
forecast for snow was going to put a damper on our turnout
at the Dry Bean this time around. For one thing, we
didn't have the benefit of having a big-time celebrity
comedian opening the show for us. Quite on the
contrary, we had a great number of people (over 200) show up
and it was one of our best Madison turnouts yet. Of
course, none of that would be possible without seeing so
many familiar faces as usual. Chris commented about
how unbelievable it is to have so many fans that will
literally drive an hour out of their way just to see us.
I didn't have one of my better nights
(personally). My finger nails were cut a little too
short this week and that really limited my ability to put
some solid practice time in all week. Along the way,
there were the usual suspect technical difficulties to
overcome as well (dead batteries, broken strings, a errant
guitar headstock to the base of your neck, etc...).
When it rains, it pours...but, nonetheless the crowd seemed
to enjoy it. I wonder if the majority of the crowd
picked up on some of our improvisations in between
songs...there were moments where I thought it was all going
to come to a screeching halt, but it always seemed to come
back together and made for some interesting jams on stage.
:)
The Dry Bean staff was amazing as
usual. I think they were impressed with our load out
in record time! It helps when you've got 7 guys all
rolling up their sleeves and get busy...we were out an hour
and a 15 minutes after bar time (3:15am)...that's got to be
a record!"
