Notes from the show:

"Hooker's Resort is located on the shores of the Wisconsin River just a little bit outside of Poynette.  Prior to our sound check, I took a brief walk along the shore just to take in the pretty scenery.  Standing out on the dock and taking in the sights was so refreshing...especially since it now appears that Spring is upon us.  All of us were a bit excited about the fact that our "light show" continues to evolve into a bigger and bigger spectacle almost every time we play out.  Tonight, the boys added a truss system garnishing four brand new Par64 lights above Kyle's head.  We were pretty impressed over the fact that these four lights can generate almost any color in somewhat mesmerizing random patterns.  While great as they are, we can't help but remain overly excited about the new Intelligent-lighting system which (hopefully) we will debut at our next show, Border Riders.  These lights feature some of the coolest light patterns using beams of light and a highly reflective mirror that moves the beams of light around the scene in fascinating ways.

This show attracted some old Sonic Rush faithful that we haven't seen since before New Years Eve.  Speaking for the new guys in the band, we're very grateful to meet you all for the first time and I'm honored to have the opportunity to play for you.  I had the privilege to meet an aspiring guitar player, Tanner and he was kind enough to share a photo with me.  While it may seem special for you folks to share a photo opportunity with us...believe me, we enjoy it just as much as you.  I was kind of shocked when people started asking to take a picture with us before we even started playingI was very pleased to share a hug with my old friends, Kari and her daughter Stephanie.  The only thing that sucks about being in a band is that you don't always have the time to devote towards sitting down and catching up.  I hope we can do that again sometime.  BTW...(Steph) that offer for me to take you on your first flying lesson still stands!

The dance floor was sparsely occupied throughout the night...a few songs would bring 'em out...and then a few would cause 'em to disperse until we played something that seemed more suitable.  We often bet on which songs will bring the people out and which ones will cause you all to sit down.  It's kind of like a game between us band members...and funny at the same time!  :-)

A special thanks to my fiancé, Shelli...for taking all the great pictures!  She really worked hard for some of those shots.  We always try to get as many pictures of the crowd as we can.  Unfortunately, digital cameras are limited in the fact that they don't capture motion very well.  You people need to slow down when we try to take your picture...either that or we need to play crappier music because this stuff seems to keep you all moving quite a bit!  J/K !  :-)....Hope to see you all at Border Riders!"

Fan Reviews:

"The band did sound great.  Kyle's drum solo was cool, Chris did remember to jump =) and Kurt was still smokin!!!!!! Greg...you are a good guitarist even if you were only playing for the new fans.  Much success to you all." - foreveryoung8

"Hey Greg:
It was really fun and Stephanie had a great time at the show seeing all of you guys again.   I really enjoy watching you guys perform.  I'm not sure about Border Riders, it depends on my boyfriend's schedule,.....but I see you do have some dates in the area coming up.  So I will see you soon.  Take care and I do look forward to catching up at one of these shows.  - Kari"
