Notes from the
show:
"I get both excited
and anxious every time we are scheduled to do an outdoor
gig. I get excited because I know a lot of people are
likely to show up. However, I get anxious because you
never know how the weather is going to turn out. It
can be a little nerve racking with
all that fancy electrical equipment exposed to the elements.
We received word that a big storm was
moving in our direction about midway through our first break. We started making plans for
what equipment would need to be covered by tarps should it
start to rain. By the looks of the radar on my cell
phone, we were about to get soaked big time.
There was no stopping this crowd from rocking all
night. Through (what can only be described as) a
collective effort between the crowd's cheering and our
14,000 watts of power...we pushed that storm east and got
only a few sprinkles!
Walking through the
crowd yielded many familiar faces (as usual). The outdoor gigs tend to be "all
ages" shows and we often get to meet a few aspiring musicians under the age of 16.
I think all the guys will agree that it's pretty cool to
have the admiration of adults...but, to have the unfiltered
approval of a kid means a little more once in awhile.
:) I'm very happy to have met our friend Kathy (in
person). She convinced several people to come out and
rock with us. Jeremy (Shoob) brought his brother Jason
and their closest friends as well! A long-time friend
of the band, Russell, stopped out to take in the atmosphere
and we appreciated that he stayed after to help pack up.
And the last time we saw Louis was in 1998 when Shaman
Spell last played Lone Rock. Perhaps Louis is now
thinking about pairing up a Line 6 HD147 amplifier with
those Peavey Wolfgang guitars now? J/K :)
Every show has it's
interesting moments and this one yielded a few. The
most interesting one was this...during the second break, I
accidentally spilled super glue all over my leather kilts as
I was trying to fix one of my ring lasers that had come
loose. Somehow, I managed to super glue the fingers
on my right hand together and I spent 15 minutes chewing the super glue off
just so I could hold onto my pick while
playing. Crazy! And I still haven't figured out
how I'm going to clean that super glue off my leather kilts.
My camera has a
feature which allows me to shoot short video segments with
sound. So, I put my guitar down during the song, "TNT"
and recorded some footage of all the people on stage with us
going crazy. You probably can't tell from the video, but the whole stage was
moving up and down like a trampoline...I thought it would
snap at any second. The sound isn't great and you can
just hear other three guys playing/singing...but, I like
seeing the crowd having fun because that's what it's all
about! Check out the
video at the top of this page.
Also, special thanks
to Taylor for helping take this week's pictures and Reggie
(of course) for selling our merchandise!"

Fan Reviews:
"Hey! Great show!
You even turned a full country fan into a rock fan.
LOL Aaron swore he hated rock but he's hooked on you
guys! LOL It was great meeting you guys. I am sorry that
we didn't stick around for that picture. Kurt said he
didn't know where you went to and Angie had to get up at
6:30 to be in La Crosse by 9 AM. So she needed to get the
kids home and in bed. Plus its a long drive to Lone Rock
but Ang, Aaron and I also said we would do it again to hear
you guys. Timmy and Cody were bored at first when we got
there. It was Cody and Jon's first concert and they didn't
know what to expect but after a couple hours you had them
all in full swing. Timmy even ended up on stage with
that large group at the end of the night!!! LOL
Kayla was so happy she got to meet you guys but was a little
embarrassed since she's never done that before.
Well.... we will be seeing you again real soon. Take care
and keep up the good work. Please keep me posted on
bookings that are for all ages as the kids all want to
go with us to hear you again." - Kathy
