Notes from the
show:
"It was easy to get overly excited
about playing at the Dry Bean again. Caroline (owner)
gave us an awesome opportunity to get some great exposure by
pairing up with a well-known comedian,
Tim Bedore.
A little over 300 people snatched up every available ticket
at $16/each for a chance to see the celebrity often featured
on WIBA fm's "Bob
& Tom Show" in the morning.
Tim did a great job getting the crowd
warmed up. Without a doubt, most people showed up to
enjoy Tim's show and we were thankful to get an opportunity
to perform for those that stayed. Tim had an
engagement that he had to get to so we were not able to snag
a photo together. Van Edwards (of WIBA fm) was really
great to work with all the way through the experience!
A big thank you to WIBA for everything they did for us in
promoting the show!
The Sonic Rush regulars were out in
force once again too. I was also very pleased to see
my friends from the airport...Paul, Connie, Dolly, Jen, Amy,
Ross, Wolfie, Travis, Mark, Kevin, Molly...and anyone else I
missed! Both of my brother-in-laws made it to the show
too!
I'm still breaking in the new Nikon
D50 camera and so I'm not completely satisfied with all the
pictures I was able to collect. While I'm now sifting
out less pictures that "blurred out", I'm now finding many
pictures where the stage lighting has been completely washed
out due to an unintended camera flash. We'll keep
working the kinks out and we should get better at this with
some practice. I hope to get more shots of the crowd
next time too.
As usual, the Dry Bean staff was very
professional in keeping things under control and keeping us
comfortable during our performance. We can't thank the
staff enough for being so patient with us while we loaded
out. I agree...it's a hell of a lot of equipment for
so few people, but that's the way you emulate arena rock!
